Prescription Renewals:

If you have run out of your medication and do not have any refills left on your prescription, we can help! Our pharmacists can provide an assessment and if appropriate, prescribe refills for your medication. This service is free of charge up to 4 times per year with a Nova Scotia health card.

Assessment & Prescribing Services:

Our pharmacists are trained to assess and prescribe for the following conditions free of charge with your Nova Scotia health card.

  • Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections for Females 16+

  • Shingles

  • Prevention of Lyme Disease Following Tick Bite

  • Contraception

Our pharmacists can also assess and prescribe for numerous minor ailment conditions. This is not a funded service and has a $25 fee. Conditions include:

  • Heartburn

  • Cold Sores

  • Impetigo

  • Oral Thrush

  • Acne

  • Seasonal Allergies

  • Hemorrhoids

  • Mild Skin Conditions

Immunizations & Injection Services:

Pharmacists can provide a wide range of immunizations and injections at the pharmacy. This is not a funded service and has a $20 fee.

Immunizations:

  • Hepatitis A & B

  • HPV

  • Shingles

  • Meningitis

Injections:

  • Depo-Provera

  • Vitamin B12

Flu vaccine and Covid-19 vaccines do not require a prescription and are free of charge.

INR Testing:

This service is for patients taking the medication warfarin, a blood thinner commonly used to prevent blood clots. Patients can enrol in the program free of charge with their Nova Scotia health card.

This service includes an INR test using a finger prick that gives results in minutes. The Pharmacist can provide dose changes and advice based on the result. Patients no longer need a blood draw at a lab or need to wait for their results. All INR results are sent to your family physician or nurse practitioner.

Mental Health Medication Consultation - The Bloom Program:

Our pharmacists are trained to provide detailed mental health medication consultations as part of The Bloom Program.

The Bloom Program is a community pharmacy initiative designed to increase and improve mental health and addictions care for Nova Scotians.

This program is free of charge for anyone with a Nova Scotia Health card who has one or more mental health or addictions diagnoses and a medication problem they would like to work on with their pharmacist.

Medication Reviews:

Our pharmacists are medication experts! Book a one on one appointment to review your medications, lab tests, medical conditions and discuss any questions you have. We will provide you with a detailed medication list including the purpose of your medication. We will collaborate with your other healthcare providers to find solutions to any medication concerns.
